• A retired social worker, Elizabeth is fantastic with students as well as reading the dogs.  Her years of experience have included training an Airedale and Poodle, but her breed of choice is Spinone Italiano.  She had one of the first female Champion/Master Hunter Spinone’s in the history of the breed.  Elizabeth not only helps with the Rally and Novice classes , she competes in breed, Rally and Obedience to bring a balanced view in her training.  Elizabeth is also an evaluator for the American Kennel Club’s Canine Good Citizen test.


  • Angie started out just wanting a nicely behaved dog when she first came with her Rottweiler.  She got hooked on training and has now titled a Rottweiler, German Shepherd Dog, All-American as well as her Labradors in Agility, Rally and Obedience, including advance titles in all three venues.  Angie is certified through the National Association of Dog Obedience Instructors (NADOI) and is an evaluator for the American Kennel Club’s Canine Good Citizen test.


  • Kathy has also been training for many years.  Though she started out in Obedience she now is a breeder of Labrador Retrievers and brings very important insight to people training their dogs.


  • Jean has been training and competing for most of her life.  She has trained and titled multiple breeds including Siberian Huskies, Labs and Goldens.  Her competition results have included perfect scores in Obedience and Rally, plus advance titles in both, including Obedience Trial Champion with one of her Golden Retrievers.


  • Angie,  Bob, Elizabeth and Susan are CGC evaluators.
  • Su and Elizabeth have shown their dogs in the famous AKC Westminster Dog Show in New York City.

Papps Instructors


  • Lois is a groomer by profession and a semi-professional handler.  She has handled Dobermans, Shar Pei, Border Collies, Labradors and Spinone Italianos just to name a few breeds. Lois brings years of experience to the conformation class.  Lois also competes actively in Obedience and Rally with her Shar Peis, Shetland Sheepdog and Border Collies including advance titles in both venues.  She is also certified through the National Association of Dog Obedience Instructors.



  • Linda has a keen eye for dogs and their behavior.  She helps with Beginner classes and also brings years of experience along with having trained Norwegian Elkhound, German Shepherd Dog and Belgian Sheepdog.  She also has competed in Rally and Obedience earning advance titles in each.


  • A retired professor who has a wonderful ability to communicate with students, Nancy has trained Border Collie, but her breed for competition is the Basenji, a non-traditional breed which has taught her how to think outside the box.


  • One of the newest instructors, Bob has a natural eye for dog behavior.  He is currently training and competing with his young Labrador at the advance level of both Obedience and Rally.  He has attended numerous seminars with trainers from all over the country to help hone his skills.  He is an evaluator for the American Kennel Club’s Canine Good Citizen test, and is currently working on his Provisional membership through the National Association of Dog Obedience Instructors .


  • A vet tech by profession, Su has been training and competing for many years in field work, Obedience, and Rally as well as conformation.  She also used to breed Bulldogs as well as show them in breed and Obedience.  She now has Spinone Italianos.
